4 Seasons of Hipster

Same-Sex Marriage

Oil spills

They're messy and out of control..I tried to go for a very old anatomy sheet look usually rough and done with ink. I chose this appearance because much like a flower and a mushroomcloud from an explosion(nukes aren't the only ones that produce them) oil spills tend to start out small and then as time goes on they can rapidly "mushroom"/blossom out of control.

For anyone interested in the people I presented on earlier you can find more information on them through the following links. Also I believe I mentioned them at the end of my presentation but a link to passion pictures is provided as well for anyone interested.

Toshio Iwai:(main site is down for this person, however the site for the tenori-on is available)

There are many other links but these are the best sources I was able to come across and have a good deal of information to get started with, if you're interested in any of them.

All that was ever wanted was Peace!

big trouble....

for me

Did the changes and added the text and border with illustrator.

(I guess I mis-interpreted the assignment)

Save Williamsburg. Save the world.

Peace through Armed Intervention

A top ranked Army General said the following: "If I had to go to an strange alien world by myself and was given one choice of weapon to carry - it would be an AK 47" - gotta love the History Channel.

Let Love Live...

This is one of my favorite photos of my two female friends getting married. It was originally in color and needed a lot of color correction and some sharpening. I choose to add a heart filled with the colors of the gay pride flag while allowing their shape to still be seen. I wanted to highlight same sex marriage because I feel that no one has the right to tell you who to love...

big trouble...

Just a quick digital illustration on an ongoing event.

Hello guys..

Hi, it's Pavla, that is short for Pavlina Perry.

I am Czech born photographer & graphic design student at NJCU, living a short distance from New York city. Traveling thorough out different countries opened my mind and significantly changed my focus of work. My work mainly documents social issues such as project City Life or ongoing project Immigrants in the United States. But I also shoot weddings and other events.
I love what I do.

My work was published many times in the College UCC News paper and Art Magazine
"The Foreign Voice". I also had cover and spread in the Journal of Scholarship at NJCU "Transformation" (spring 2010). To see my clients happy gives me great feeling of satisfaction and happiness.

I love both, photography & typography. To me it's all game with composition, color and positive/negative space. I would say, that I spend the same time front of the Mac like behind my lens. I like this combination. My alternative goal is to make a good living from Documentary or Graphic Design, work on issues which matter and can change people view.
I look up to the war photographer like James Nachtway but I am also inspired by street photographer Bruce Davidson and many other like him.

To See

Jeffrey Mariano

As a student I am fully commitment to become a better graphic artist. This class (web design) will enforce my knowledge in web design and will allow me to enrich my design sensibility. I believe it is very important to use computers as a medium to create art rather than just concentrate in the technical parts of it. Also, I am interested in the experimentation of visual psychology and in the study of its impact in cultural changes. I am very excited about this class and I know it will bring a lot of changes to my portfolio.

Constantly Growing Artist

Hi, my name is Emerald Reyes. This is my third year attending NJCU, my major is digital design and illustration. Originally, I came from a Fine Arts background. I mainly focused on traditional art forms such as drawing and painting. I loved it, and wanted to be the best that I could be in it. I still love it, but when I came here- I set my sights on digital media and immersing myself in graphic design. I quickly discovered that I love design just as much as I do painting or creating illustrations. In this class I hope to learn as much as I can, not only the technical aspects of web design; but also looking forward to learning from all you guys because everyone has something unique to offer.

OH HEY!

My name is Charlotte Exantus.  I am a graphic design  major,  lover of kitsch and  embracer of the absurd.  My goal is become a well-rounded creative visionary.  I am interested in a myriad of art mediums and throughout the years I have created works that have employed various techniques, such as: collage, crochet and fiber arts, photography, painting, installations, sculpture, printmaking and traditional print design.  I would love to transform myself into a popular brand and be able to explore all of these mediums in my professional life while using the web design skills that I will learn in this class as a vehicle to broadcast myself to the world.

What I do. WHAT I WANT!!! :)

I'm Robert Lewis Nelson. Usually, I create images of vector illustrations with type that have social and political undertones to them. I also incorporate elements of fashion, because fashion is one of the primary ways people form their own identities and their opinions of others.

I want to become an art director at a book publishing house, magazine, or advertising agency. Another future goal would be getting into entrepreneurship. I've recently have become very interested in the prospect of creating my own brand and business.

Hello everyone!!!

My name is Magdalena. I am originally from Poland. I have been living in US for seven years.I am senior student of graphic design major. I am interested in print design, but I am starting to enjoy illustration more and more. I like folk design, especially Polish folk paper cuts( this is one of them). I like baking, hiking and biking. I am still in the journey of finding myself as a designer. I have been recently inspired by Sanna Annuka's illustrations.
This paper cut was re-drawn by me in Illustrator from the book: Wycinanka Polska(Polish Paper Cut), author: Antoni Sledziewski, Warsaw 2008

THE BEGINNING OF A GREAT LEARNING EXPERIENCE!!

Hi, Everybody!!! I'm Julissa and I'm here to learn as much as I can in 15 weeks. I am currently a junior and a Graphic Design major. I am in this course to enhance my skills in designing, putting my portfolio together and getting the introductory skills in making a website. I have a pretty hectic life from working, school and other responsibilities that sometimes I do not even know how I have time to think or sleep half the time. My ultimate goal in life is to be in advertising designing billboards and logos. My short term goal is to stay focused this semester and learn as much as I can in this class.

I am excited to get to know everybody in this class and see everyones' work!!!!!!

Ellis "Blindrat" Clark

Hello I'm Ellis Clark, I'm from Britain(Liverpool) and I'm and illustration major. My goal is to become an art director in the Video Game and movie industries. Currently I do small small freelance commissions, but I'm working my way up and learning a lot on my road to being the best I can be at illustration. I love drawing, working with others, and creating concepts and I'll do everything I can to make my passion into my profession.

Other than constantly working on my artwork(What better way to spend the day right?), I like to play video games, work with computers, play tabletops, and cook too. So if you need an illustration, a computer built, or a nice breakfast, feel free to ask and I'm your man. :)

Howdy

Greetings Web Design colleagues,

My name is Rajah and this is my 8th year of college and Im almost positive that Im a senior now. The reason Im in this class is 1. because i have to be and 2. because it's important for me to get a foundation in web design. Ive dabbled in it over the years with dreamweaver and doing cut-n-paste hack jobs, but I've never had patience nor the drive to sit down and learn it on my own. Out of all my classes this semester, I hope that I learn the most from this one cause I'll definitely be using it in the future.

Cheers!

Below is a picture of the Philly Cheesesteak that I had at the Brownstone Diner in Jersey City, NJ.

For the ladies, Im 5'11 and a somewhat solid 240 pounds. I like sandwiches and free refills along with meteor showers at night. My main goal in life is still a mystery although I wouldn't mind having a wife(wives) and a few kids. I play video games in my spare time and company time . Ive been growing my beard and 'stache since November 2009 and have been asked quite frequently by my mother and nana to please shave. Ive taken their requests into consideration.

That's pretty much all you need to know about me. If there's something else you'd like to know, feel free to ask, just remember though, Im also free to ignore you. Have a splendid day.
